Balconies are load-bearing, planar precast concrete elements as a cantilever of the floor slab or a platform which is attached to the outer wall of a building on brackets or cantilever beams.

Depending on the application, they are manufactured with a circumferential upstand, integrated water drain, water spout, drip nose on the underside, surface coating, etc. According to their static requirements (overlying or self-supporting) balconies can be designed with thermal insulation elements.
